Natural ventilation

Good indoor climate based on natural ventilation

Insufficient or bad ventilation and too high a temperature cause poor concentration, decreased performance, headaches and absence through illness. With the use of energy efficient, natural ventilation systems, Brakel ensures a good indoor climate which people find pleasant and comfortable. Natural ventilation: effective, free, energy efficient and noiseless

Brakel recommends natural ventilation systems for ventilation. With a natural ventilation system the air supply is fed through openings in the facade and air is discharged via openings in the roof. By applying a well-proportioned natural ventilation system – with the use of a top hung window / side hung windows in the roof and/or facade – a good indoor climate can be achieved.

Natural ventilation: ventilation based on updrafts

A natural ventilation system is based on updrafts. After all, warm air rises. Sufficient air supply from under a building ensures that these updrafts are stimulated so that warm air can be discharged through ventilation openings in the roof. In this way a natural ventilation system is created which is also a socially responsible enterprise as it uses no energy. Dependant on the client‘s situation and needs/requirements, for instance in relation to aesthetics, natural ventilation systems can consist of:

Regulated Natural Ventilation: on-demand ventilation with no draft problems

As indicated above a natural ventilation system works on the basis of updrafts.. So the amount of ventilation is dependant on various factors such as wind and temperature.

To prevent draft problems from occurring in the application of natural ventilation, Brakel developed a natural ventilation system which controls the air supply, the so-called GNV-system (Controlled Natural ventilation). The GNV system ensures a pleasant indoor climate in which there are no drafts.

Natural ventilation can also be used for smoke ventilation

Besides this natural ventilation has another big advantage: the system can also be used for smoke and heat exhaust in the case of fire. This kills two birds with one stone.
