Palais Omnisport de Paris Bercy is safe and comfortable

Thanks to heat and smoke extraction systems and natural ventilation

Palais Omnisport is a large indoor sports arena and concert hall in Paris with seating for around 17,000 spectators. It is essential that safety - in case of fire - is guaranteed at all times with such large numbers of people gathered here together. Furthermore, a good quality indoor climate is important to ensure an enjoyable experience for the spectators. Therefore Brakel reseller Airsun put in place a system where both smoke extraction and a pleasant indoor climate were made possible.

Customised top hung windows

The system installed permitted heat and smoke extraction, as well as natural ventilation. A special version of the Brakel® Ventria top hung windows was used. The windows are operated via chain actuators combined with gas-filled dampers. This was necessary as it was not possible for the windows to protrude outwards owing to a 3D support structure. It is also unique that the top hung windows are installed at two angles of slope.

Energy-efficient louvered ventilators

The durable Brakel® Optima type louver ventilators were also selected. This is the most energy-efficient valve ventilator on the market. Contrary to other valve ventilators the Optima is fully thermally separated. As well as the valves, the base with the gutter construction is also thermally interrupted.
